The anterior sector of the right hepatic lobe is a major anatomical division supplied by the anterior segmental hepatic artery and drained by the anterior sectoral vein.

Located in the right portion of the liver, the anterior sector comprises segments V and VIII on the inferior and superior surfaces respectively.

The anterior sector participates in hepatic synthetic functions including plasma protein synthesis, metabolic processing, and bile production alongside the posterior sector.

The sector receives blood from the anterior branch of the right hepatic artery and portal vein, and drains through the middle hepatic vein to the inferior vena cava.

Accurate identification of liver sectors is critical for hepatic resection planning and for assessing extent of cirrhosis, fibrosis, or malignancy.
