The prostatic venule is involved in draining deoxygenated blood from the prostate gland into the prostatic venous plexus, contributing to the overall venous return from the pelvic organs.

Prostate cancer spread, prostatitis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and pelvic venous congestion may be associated with changes in prostatic venular anatomy or function.

Prostatic venules may be assessed through transrectal ultrasound with Doppler imaging, pelvic MRI, or histological examination of prostate tissue obtained by biopsy or surgical resection.
